The St. Louis Rams may have dropped him, then the Dallas Cowboys may have released him, but Michael Sam continues to shine and after his recent magazine cover, he has even more of a reason to celebrate.
Known as the first openly gay athlete in the NFL, Michael Sam lands the cover of GQ magazine for the 2014 edition of ‘Men of the Year.’ Sam took to Twitter on Monday (Nov 17) to share his excitement and uploaded a photo of his cover shot. Tweeting, “A big thank you to @GQMagazine for including me among their #GQMOTY – I’m beyond honored to share their company.”
Michael Sam’s winning shot is one of six from the men’s magazine, which also features actors, Ansel Elgort, Chris Pratt, Steve Carell, comedian, Dave Chappelle, and actress, Shailene Woodley. Sam’s boyfriend, Vito Cammisano, also took to Twitter to show love to his partner, sharing, “My man of every year !So proud of what you have & continue to accomplish everyday!! I love you [green heart emoji] #GQ #GQmanoftheyear.”
