Last night (Nov. 25), Lesley McSpadden learned that the shooter of her 18-year-old son Mike Brown would not be charged in his killing. In a heartbreaking reaction to the grand jury’s decision not to indict Darren Wilson, Mike Brown’s mother addressed a crowd of protesters in tears, questioning the officer’s self-defense claims.

“Everybody want me to be calm. Do you know how them bullets hit my son, what they did to his body as they entered his body?” she screamed.
Subsequently, officials made public the grand jury documents that detail how the decision was arrived to. Included was a 92-page testimony from Wilson, in which he detailed the events on Aug. 9. Excerpts from his side of the story include:
“There’s a lot of gangs that reside or associate with that area. There’s a lot of violence in that area, there’s a lot of gun activity, drug activity, it is just not a very well-liked community. That community doesn’t like the police.”
