After helping Miley Cyrus raise awareness about youth homelessness by accepting her Moonman for Video of the Year at Sunday’s (Aug. 24) MTV Video Music Awards, FOX News reports that an arrest warrant for Jesse Helt has been issued in his hometown of Oregon. The aspiring model was arrested back in 2010 for criminal mischief and criminal trespass. The warrant was issued in 2011 after he violated his probation.
Before news hit that he was a wanted man, his mother, Linda Helt, told Oregon Live that she is happy that her son had some shine at Sunday’s award show. “He was at the right place at the right time.” It’s time for him to have some good luck,” said the 62-year-old. “He needs to be blessed.”
Helt said that her 22-year-old son moved to Los Angeles because “he wanted to make it on his own” and met Cyrus when she visited The Friend’s Place, a center in Los Angeles for homeless youth.
Though he is experiencing 15 seconds of fame, Polk City Director of Community Corrections Martin Silbernagel said that Helt will be hauled off to jail once they catch him.
