We already knew that black doesn’t crack, but Ms. Naomi Campbell just gave the meaning absolute life.
Channeling her inner Diana Ross the supermodel served 1960’s glam with doll baby lashes and a frock the Supremes would have sashayed on stage in for W Magazine’s October 2014 issue. Entitled, “The New Royals” the cover story highlights entertainment’s leading ladies and Naomi is given the coveted “Classic Royalty—Fashion” title.
Aside from her taking breathtaking photos Naomi gave her opinion and view on the fashion industry today.
“I don’t understand the new girls now. Fashion has really changed—it went from being a small group to very global and very corporate. Back in the day, we got to know the designers personally, and we tried to reinforce their vision. The new girls don’t have that anymore; they are merely skinny clothes hangers. I like a little swag in a girl’s walk on the runway. It is called a ‘show,’ after all.”
On newsstands today, Vixens, what are your thoughts about Naomi’s cover?
