Nicki Minaj is taking over the world, one magazine at a time and Billboard agrees. The latest issue of Billboard shows the Misses of Young Money donning metallic gold outfit that accentuates her curves and a bold, “Nicki vs. the World” title. Adding to her album covers for the year and prepping for her third studio album, out December 15th, the rapper/actress sits down with Billboard and talks her “***Flawless (remix)” partner, the number one woman in her life, and more. Nicki believes her counterparts in the game should stay hungry:
“It’s corny when rappers feel like they’ve made it and they don’t have to prove themselves anymore. You should always be competing. You should always be trying to show that you’re the best.”
The pink wigs and the animated outfits were all apart of the plan:
“People don’t know how heavily involved I am in my own career. I’m on 15 to 25 conference calls every few days strategizing with my team.”
Nicki isn’t a bitch, but a boss:
“My mother always had this attitude that she didn’t take no for an answer, so I guess that carried on to me.”
To hell what you heard, Nicki is confident in The Pinkprint
“My album is going to be important to hip-hop.”
Despite the feud on-set between her and Mariah Carey, something good came from participating as a judge on American Idol:
“Thank God I did that show [American Idol]. At least I was able to show my true self, speak and have a mind.”
Nicki isn’t ashamed of her body… and we shouldn’t be either.
“I went overboard with the video [Anaconda] to show that I’m not going to hide. And those big-booty dancers I have, they’re not going to hide. Black girls should feel sexy, powerful and important too.”
Nicki gives the Queen Bey praise.
“There’s something about her work ethic that always made me feel like no matter how hard stuff gets, I’m not allowed to complain. Some women give me the feeling that where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
