Nicole Murphy wants set the record straight after being photographed kissing married director Antoine Fuqua in Italy two months ago. Murphy appeared on The Wendy Williams Show Tuesday (Sept. 24) where she expressed regret, and explained how the two ended up in a liplock.
Describing the kiss as a “moment-in-time thing,” the 51-year-old former model and mother of five, admitted that she wished the whole thing never happened.
“Trust me, I wish it didn’t happen,” Murphy told Wendy Williams. “It was a moment where I should’ve thought more through the situation, made better judgments. It’s something I apologize for.”
Murphy also clarified that she didn’t release a statement after the photos were made public, and alluded to not being aware of Fuqua’s marital status noting that she had a “different impression” of his relationship with Lela Rochon.
Fuqua and Rochon have been married since 1999, and share two children. Fuqua has made headlines before for allegedly cheating on Rochon in the past. Nonetheless, the couple appears to still be married as Rochon initially deactivated her social media accounts but returned to Instagram earlier this month with a photo showing her wedding ring.
“I’m a human being. It was a mistake,” added Murphy before sharing a warning. “Women, it’s going to happen to you. Do your research.”
Later in the interview, Murphy apologized to Rochon through the camera and denied Lisa Raye’s claims that she cheated with her former husband, Michael Misick.
