Academy Award winning actress Octavia Spencer pulls off her best 60s glam look for November’s Women in Hollywood Issue for ELLE Magazine. Draped in a Tadashi Shoji dress, L’Oréal Paris makeup and Harry Winston diamonds, the actress shines gracefully on the cover and in her spread.
The Auburn alum, who is working on over four new movies (Baggage Claim, Fruitvale, Snowpiercer, Lost on Purpose), spoke with ELLE about her most challenging times in the movie business.
Once upon a time, Spencer remembers when she had to stand up to a (famous) well known producer. “Early on I had to stand up to a producer – I won’t say who, but he is famous, famous,” she tells the mag. “He dressed me down in a crowded office, I told him right there in front of a hundred people, ‘You don’t know me well enough to use that tone’…And then I ran to the bathroom and cried like a baby. But he never addressed me that way again. And he is known as a yeller.”
