Awards season is in full swing. Less than a week after the 2014 Grammy nominations reveal, the Screen Actors Guild announces it 2014 nominees laced with lots of black star power. Talk show giant (and queen of pretty much everything) Oprah Winfrey will go head to head with Lupita Nyong’o for the Supporting Actress award while fellow Butler star Forest Whitaker will face off with 12 Years A Slave’s Chiwetel Ejiofor in the Lead Male Actor category.
As expected, Kerry Washington is also nominated for Scandal while Angela Bassett is also recognized for her work in Lifetime’s Betty & Coretta.
