People magazine’s Annual ‘Sexiest Man’ Issue with newly-crowned Channing Tatum on the cover hits stores today. While readers will see some familiar faces for runner-ups (Last year’s winner Bradley Cooper, Denzel Washington, Ben Affleck) there aren’t a lot of surprises.
We decided to give you our own runner-up list. It’s cool, you can thank us later. — Desire Thompson
1. Kid Cudi
The talented rapper/singer was seen at the GQ Man of the Year party looking very dapper. Cudi is also dropping his third album Indicud early 2013.
2. Damon Wayans Jr.
There’s just something about a man that can make you laugh. The son of funny man Damon Wayans plays Brad on ABC’s hit comedy Happy Endings. Like father, like son.
3. Luke James
You may recognize Luke James from his performance from Black Girls Rock! or from a little ol jam called “My Turn.” The artist has also written for Britney Spears, Justin Bieber and Chris Brown. Not to mention, his biggest co-signer is King Bey.
4. Laz Alonso
Not only does Laz Alonso look good in a suit, but he also played the sensitive guy so well in last year’s rom-com Jumping the Broom. Now, fans can see him in a more serious role with Meagan Good in NBC’s drama Deception in early 2013.
5. Idris Elba
We’re still trying to figure out why Idris Elba wasn’t one of the top contenders for the “Sexist Man Alive.” He had a pretty successful year with Prometheus and is currently working on four new films for 2013. Yeah, we can’t wait either!
6. Michael Ealy
What can you say about Michael Ealy that hasn’t been said already? The actor seems to have it all: a great personality, charm and those eyes! Unfortunately the actor’s budding cop comedy Common Law wasn’t renewed for a second season, but you can catch him in Unconditional, as well as some new projects next year.
Smart, stylish, and smooth. Sure there are many other words to describe Nasty Nas, but his street sexy demeanor make a guaranteed runner-up.
Dr. Avery sure has our attention. The Grey’s Anatomy actor has given us a reason to be glued to our TV sets every Thursday night. He was also the hot hunk in Rihanna’s “Russian Roulette” video.
9. Derrick Rose
The Chicago Bulls point guard definitely deserves a spot on our runner-up list. With his coach reporting that he’s on his way to recovery after his torn ACL last season, we’ll be looking out for him on the court next year.
10. Serge Ibaka
The new power forward/center of OKC sure has our attention. While others feel that OKC’s pick of Ibaka over James Harden would make OKC the worst team in the NBA, Ibaka shuts down everyone’s fears by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds in their last game against the Detriot Pistons. Don’t worry Serge, we got your back!
