The Shonda Rhimes-produced TV drama has peeled back the curtain on politics, allowing us to be engulfed in the love, lies and masterfully crafted mind games. Every Thursday, fans and critics tune into Twitter, eyes peeled and mouths gaping open. But this week, audiences must soak in their last good fill of the Gladiators & Co. during the second season’s finale. But wait, who’s the real mole? Will Mellie really leave Fitz? What will happen to Jake? Will Cyrus have a heart attack? There’s still so much we need to know.
But for now, take a look at our five predictions for the season’s final episode.
The Mole
Just like Defiance, there is more than one player for the devil’s team. We already know David Rosen and Billy Chambers are working together. But they are part of a team–Abby Whelan, Sally Langston and James Nova–with enough motive to put the Gladiators away.
Abby loves David enough to have helped him steal the Cytron card. Sally wants to be president, and she promised Billy Chambers the Vice President seat. And James is tired of living in his husband’s shadow and this is the story that’ll make him big time journalist. Leaking the tale of stealing the White House will do just that.
The Love Triangle
Mellie is going to go straight Karen from GoodFellas on Fitz. She’s going to wake him up with a gun to his face forcing him to choose life or Olivia.
Just kidding. But that would be an interesting course of events.
Actually, Mel is going to come to Olivia with an offer she can’t refuse. She is going to force Liv to sign an agreement detailing that as long as Fitz is in office, Liv is to cease and desist contact with him. In exchange, Mellie won’t out Olivia’s role as mistress to the press. Surely, Olivia is going to oblige because, well, her only match as far as getting what she wants is Scandal‘s FLOTUS. Blackmail wins again in the White House.
HuckleberryQuinn
Last week, Huck and Quinn were left believing Charlie stole the Cytron card. Because Huck didn’t kill him, it’s time for Quinn to take her Huck-taught skills, track down the assassin and kill him. She won’t want her partner in crime to have another death on his hands since Huck’s battling his own demons.
Jake and Olivia’s Sextape
The DVD of Olivia and Jake’s sexcapade will arrive to the White House. Naturally, Fitz will get his hands on it somehow, and seeing the guy he ordered to watch Olivia in Olivia will send him over the edge. This will lead to the major blow up of the show and Olivia’s epic one-liner. Maybe.
Last Line
Olivia tells Fitz, “I’m pregnant.”
Can you just imagine? Ms. Pope doesn’t make mistakes like that, but it’ll make for a great third season. From topics of abortion and Who’s The Father drama to miscarriages, the story lines have the ability to be epic on another level. If Shonda ends this scandalous season with head of Olivia Pope & Associates being preggo…
