3 DAYS BEFORE: Pick your Posse
Figure out who you want to go with to ensure that you’ll have the most fun. Message all the friends you think would be interested in joining. The more you have, the bigger the party.
2 DAYS BEFORE: Shop for your Pride outfit
In order to rip the runway/city streets you got to have the best outfit. There will be tons of wild fashion so find an outfit that makes you stand out.
DAY BEFORE: Plan your day ahead of time
Check out your city’s Pride itinerary and plan out your day with friends. Remember to allow time for parking, entry lines and mingling before the event, and if you and your friends plan to split up, pick a meeting place to meet once the event is over. Although your day is planned, remember to be flexible. Weather changes, a cutie walking by, and random house parties are game changers, so be ready to roll with the punches.
DAY BEFORE: Charge your phone
With all the endless picture and videos you’ll be taking, a fully charged battery is a must! How else are you going to tweet and post pics on Instagram about all the fun you’re having?
DAY OF: Stay Hydrated
Water, water, and more water. If you want to last the entire week, Alcohol can’t be your only beverage.
DAY OF: Pick your real estate
If you’re watching the parade, make sure you choose a good perch with the best view. If you want to be surrounded by the hype and experience the excitement of it all, stay in the middle or end of the parade route. If you want a less intense experience, stay towards the beginning of the route.
DAY OF: Ditch the ride
With all the people flocking to the Pride festivities, there will be lots of traffic, blocked roads and over-priced parking garages. Use public transportation to avoid the extra stress—that way you won’t have to pull straws to decide who has to be the designated driver.
