Raven-Symoné isn’t planning on keeping silent anytime soon. The controversial co-host of The View weighed in on Caitlyn Jenner’s very public appearances since her arrival on Vanity Fair’s cover last month, after catching the Sunday (July 26) night premiere of “I Am Cait.”
Raven says, “I appreciate all she’s going to do for the community; I think it’s wonderful. I’m just surprised at how many girlfriends she has all of a sudden and how much she’s showing these stories all of a sudden.” When asked to specify what she meant by stories, the actress clarified, meaning stories of others in the community, the struggle and the transition.”

She goes on to share her own experience on publicizing her sexuality: “When I came out, I didn’t go and go hardcore and be like, ‘I’m going to save the world for LGBT.’ You’ve got to learn it. You’ve got to learn it first and she’s not, really.”
Rosie Perez questioned if whether Caitlyn was strategically waiting for the proper platform to tell these stories, to which Symoné refuted that claim. “Well, I think you can be strategic before you come out as well. Beforehand, I was definitely repping the community, even when I wasn’t saying this is what I was. And I’m not faulting you [Jenner] because yes, we need you. It’s just too fast, too soon.”
Raven-Symoné isn’t the only one who feels this way, as many across social media expressed anger over Caitlyn Jenner’s recent ESPYS honor for courage, earlier this month.
