Jay Z’s Roc Nation is in talks to have Rihanna perform at the public concert in the Flatiron District during the NBA All-Star weekend on February 12. The concert will shut down several busy streets in one of the city’s busiest neighborhoods, re-directing traffic around Fifth Avenue and Broadway from 23rd to 26th streets for the 45-minute event. Although discussions of a Rhi-Rhi performance has been negotiated for awhile, no deal has yet been reached.
The concert will be held at the Flatiron Pedestrian Plaza as the Knicks and Nets host festivities next month. The event is being organized by Jay Z’s company Roc Nation, and it’s unknown whether he will perform. He does own the nearby sports bar and lounge The 40-40 Club on 25th Street and Broadway.
