Rihanna may get another shot at acting after her drowning role in Battleship.
The Unapologetic singer is the first choice by production company Noosa Films to play Josephine Baker. “Rihanna is one of the most talented performers of this millennium,” producer W. Lance Reynolds said in a statement. “With her unique acting and performing abilities, I have no doubt she will bring Josephine back to life on the big screen.”
The American-born French history-maker was a well-rounded phenomenal, solidifying herself as a singer, actress, dancer, activist and even a spy. While climbing the racist showbiz ranks in the 20s, she became the first black woman to star in a major motion picture… and the mother of 12 adopted children.
Since Baker was also known for her fiery, larger-than-life spirit, it’s not so far-fetched that today’s bad gal RiRi can execute the role.
Rihanna hasn’t confirmed or denied the news, but somewhere between the subtweets and relationship drama, she’ll get to it.
