Rita Ora has a lot on her plate. From her new hosting duties on America’s Net Top Model to upcoming music projects, the singer doesn’t have time for the drama. In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the singer opens up about her new endeavors and how she fell victim to the “Becky with the good hair” rumors.
“First and foremost, Jay Z is my inspiration and one of my idols—lyrically, musically, business-wise,” she said Wednesday (Sept 14.) “I still look up to him and his wife every day. Beyoncé was one of my biggest idols growing up.” The singer was among the women listed as an alleged mistress on Lemonade’s “Sorry” track. While Rita shot down rumors with statements and clever pins, fans still left her social media pages flooded with lemon emojis. The businesswoman says she’s never been interested in any drama, not matter what the tabloids may say about her personal relationships.
“I’m just not the gossip queen,” she said. “I find it incredibly rude and disrespectful to women in general [when] we get accused of something that’s basically against the important part—the music.”
The singer also opened up about lessons from Prince and new musical journey. Check out the rest of the interview here.
