It’s been an emotional week for everyone amid the up-and-down reports on Bobbi Kristina’s condition after she was found unresponsive last weekend. While many continue to speculate on the how’s and why’s surrounding the undeveloped story, the women of The View voiced their opinion on the matter earlier this week.
On a “Hot Topics” segment, Rosie Perez talks Bobbi Kristina and what factors may have played a part in this unfortunate story. She proceeds to point the finger at Lifetime’s Whitney biopic and said that there was a possibility the film acted as a catalyst for the event. “I just thought that movie that came out, and this is no disrespect to Angela Bassett because I love Angela Bassett, but an unauthorized biography about her mom? It must have killed her,” said Perez who immediately retracted her statement after acknowledging her poor choice of words. “That was a terrible phrasing, let me take that back. It must have really hurt her deeply to watch that. We forget that these people are human beings and we sit there and we talk about people. We put people into the tabloids and we forget, we’re human beings.”
It’s no surprise Bobbi Kristina took offense to the making of the film and cast and Rosie Perez may very well be right. With cyber bullying contributing to a lot of today’s suicides, the actress’ words ring true as people often forget the feelings of others. As speculations continue to grow, we’re keeping Whitney’s baby in our thoughts and prayers.
