It’s a real battle of the sexes when it comes to sartorial choices.
If you didn’t already know men are from Mars and women are from Venus, and it shows in our taste in clothes. There are some women who dress for men and others who honestly don’t give a sh*t and dress solely for themselves. Yet, regardless of who you hope to appease with your style it’s safe to say that there are just some trends men hate but women love.

Many of us can agree men hate lipstick and prefer chapstick (yuck). You kiss them and they squirm like a six year old girl. Wear a dark lip and you’re considered goth, opt for red you’re a clown.
Men love dominating in most aspects of life, but in a perfectly tailored suit a woman can steal the show. It’s the ultimate power struggle. Just a heads up guys, ladies are bosses too (*sings “Can’t be getting mad, but you mad? Can’t handle that?”).
Whether it’s an arm party of Cartier love bracelets, midi and knuckle rings, or ear cuffs we love them and want to wear them all (preferably at once). Men on the other hand find it distracting. They must have thought we were joking when we said diamonds are a girl’s best friend.
Drawn/ Tattooed Eyebrows
They say the eyes are the window to your soul, but they’ve got it wrong, it’s the eyebrows. They frame your face and give you an instant lift. While ladies are going to extreme circumstances to make sure they are perfectly groomed, guys could care less.
Similar to that tutu you used to rock to ballet class this vintage style is popping up everywhere. Men are surely puzzled as to why each shirt you bought in the last month has 3-D pleated folds, whatever. Little do they know it accentuates the waist and plays up our curves. The more the merrier!
Known as the Jesus shoe to men, these sandals add edge to your summer essential. Ladies, you deserve to give your feet a break in these comfortable babies dating back to biblical times. Amen!
They might be borrowed from the boys, but we absolutely love brogues. Guys, trust us these flatforms are stylish and most importantly comfortable.
If best selling girl group TLC wore them then you know it was cool. To men, overalls don’t equate to sexy but since the 90s its revamped look of a slimmer and more tapered silhouette is way more flattering.
Poetic Justice Braids
Only the Knowles sisters could bring back that throwback summer hairdo we all sported as kids and make it popular today. As women we love them because of their low maintenance and versatility. And men well, men know it’s best to keep their mouths shut when it comes to a girl’s glory.
Weaves and eyebrows aren’t the only false things ladies are experimenting with now. False lashes have been around forever, but the masses are now taking heed. Apparently, men find them to be abnormal, freaky and way too extreme. They’re wondering, “did she wake up like this or is she a transformer?”
Cyndi Lauper made it popular, Madonna did it in the 80s, and we’re sure Betsey Johnson is doing cart wheels in one right now. Tulle is evocative of everything that makes a woman feminine. Guys disregard its dainty nuances and find the netting to be one big poofy mess.
High Waist (Jeans)
Anything high waist is a fashion extreme unless you’re a 6’0 runway model with A cups and zero body fat. Whether it’s a pant or a pair of shorts, high waist anything is a fashion statement that isn’t universally flattering. Guys see high waist garments and run for cover. Beware of the camel toe!
Drop Crotch Pants
It definitely takes a confident gal to dress like a boy and still entice them. Guys, don’t worry she’s not a cross dresser, she’s just in tune with her tomboy sartorial senses.
