Carrie Bradshaw fans everywhere can rejoice again. The Sex and the City saga isn’t over just yet as the CW has received the green light to start production on the prequel series. Based on The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell, this series will chronicle Carrie Bradshaw’s struggle to make it as a writer and how she made her way to New York City before the fashion, before Big and certainly before the Manolo Blahniks. The prequel will show how Carrie–rumored to be played by Dianna Argon, Blake Lively or Miley Cyrus–handles those teenage rites of passage: love, family, school, friends and of course, sex.
SATC stans will also be delighted to know the journey won’t be before Samantha Jones, who stood by Carrie from day one, makes her debut. Can you imagine a teenage Carrie? And how did Miranda and Charlotte come into the picture? You’ll just have to stay tuned.
The series, produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage of Gossip Girl, is predicted to begin in fall of 2012. –-Sasha Smith
