Hip-Hop has fallen hard for Dallas Wings guard Skylar Diggins. Recently, she’s found a fan in Azealia Banks which she considers a big win.
During her recent interview with ESPN Magazine for their WNBA Issue, the 25-year-old addresses her relationship with hip-hop, preferably the constant name drops she’s received over the years. While speaking with reporter Mina Kimes, Diggins says in reference to Banks’ Slay-Z cut “Skylar Diggins,” “I’m just glad I’m one of the people she likes.”
She also exclaims “I made it!” after reading lyrics to Game’s “Hit the J” where he mentions her name. While she doesn’t address it, her biggest fan from the rims of rap undisputedly Drake, has shown her love on the ‘gram and at the 2014 ESPY’s.
During the interview, Diggins speaks on her role in the game and how she wants female athletes to embrace their feminity. “A lot of times they don’t talk about women athletes — they don’t show us having both,” she says about her hashtag #BATB (Beauty and the Beast). “But you can have both. You can be a feminine woman and a beast on the court. You don’t have to choose.”
