Solange Knowles should have a lot to celebrate upon hearing the news of an expecting older sister last night. However the younger sister of Beyonce Knowles and the mother of one, has justice on the forefront of her mind as she took to her Twitter soapbox last night to express her discomfort after a run-in with Miami Police. The officer in question allegedly pulled his gun out on the 25-year-old. “A police officer just pulled a weapon on me … I have done NOTHING illegal, against the law, or anything of the sort,” Solange stated on the famed social networking website. “I am simply tired of police using arrogance, ego and authority as an offense.”
Though information was scarce last night, Detective Juan Sanchez of the Miami Police Department responded to Solange’s claims today via E! News”The whole entire incident was about the fact that she was not allowed in a club. When she became abusive, she was pulled to the side. There was no mention of a gun. Considering it might be an internal investigation I can’t tell you much other than that.”
Twitter user, @RapCoalition, supports the R&B singer, stating “@solangeknowles please file a complaint. Miami PD has been a problem for ages and no one complains….,” to which she re-tweeted on her page.
A rep for Solange Knowles camp has not yet made an official statement to the press concerning the incident, but one thing we can count on is her voice will be heard:
“It is time to do something about it. I am a mother raising a young black child in America. I’m going to die trying! Been on the phone for the last 20 minutes reporting this incident. Yes, I have the officers name. Yes, I have the location. Scare tactics don’t WORK.”
