Yesterday (Feb. 18), Jimmy Fallon hosted his first tonight show and had the privilege of being directed by Brooklyn’s very own, Spike Lee. The monumental show was shot in New York City for the first time in 40 years.
A crop of celebrities—including Kim Kardashian, Tina Fey, Mariah Carey, Tracy Morgan, Joan Rivers, Seth Rogan and more—came out for his $100 bet wagering whether he would become the next host of the Tonight Show. Fallon also teamed up with Will Smith for the evolution of hip hop dance and ended with a performance by the rock band U2. Fallon collaborated with Lee for the show’s opening title sequence and was proud to announce that all of his ‘Tonight Shows’ will start with a “Spike Lee Joint.”
