Monday, September 8, 2014 will go down as the worst day in Ray Rice’s life. Thanks to TMZ (rightfully) putting their nose where he probably felt it didn’t belong, the actual inside of the elevator video surfaced which showed Rice attacking his fiancé-turned-wife, Janay Palmer.
In the video you see her swat him before he swings and lands his hit. She falls and on the way down knocks her head on the railing within the elevator. You then see the athlete standing over her before dragging her out the elevator. Cold-hearted much?
Once the video went viral this morning all eyes were on the Baltimore Ravens which they responded by releasing their running back. They announced via their official Twitter account, “The #Ravens have terminated RB Ray Rice’s contract this afternoon.” Soon after the NFL upped their two-game suspension to an indefinite one.
Ray Rice hasn’t said much since the video first leaked, but Twitter hasn’t quieted the chatter. From attacking the league, the Ravens, and mostly Ray, it’ll be a few hours to even days before his name is no longer trending on Twitter.
