The continuation of the post-apocalyptic world that is Panem presents itself on a more conscience and intense approach in the first half of The Hunger Games‘ final installment, The Mockingjay Part 1. On a treacherous journey for freedom heroine Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), fresh from a second round of the games, becomes not only the face of District 13 but the Mockingjay, setting the revolt against the Capitol ablaze into an all out rebellion.
In a less guns blazing storyline audiences are able to deeply explore the psyche of Katniss, as well as the complex love triangle between herself, Peeta and Gale (Liam Hemsworth). In the tricky and oh-so-deadly game of life on Panem, viewers are left teetering on the edge of their seats in nearly every scene and begging for more, only to ultimately be left with unanswered questions that won’t be answered until the trilogy’s last hoorah in Mockingjay Part 2.
Vixens, The Hunger Games: The Mockingjay Part 1 hits theaters nationwide tomorrow, November 20th. Will you be watching Katniss and her crew battle to the death?
