“Someone asked a question, ‘have we seen Rihanna’s outfit’ and I said, ‘no’ because were over here touring and I didn’t know there was an award show and I had no clue what she wore.” T-Boz said to quickly justify why the singer’s name was ever dropped. “This whole conversation had nothing to do with her anyway and it was never about her at all none what so ever,” she explains. “I was talking about television shows and then you heard me say, ‘every time we see you, you’re naked,’ and then they put her picture up, come on man. How could I talk about something I didn’t even see or care about.”
Once the cleverly edited sound byte aired, the MAC ambassador converted her Twitter background to an image of the three girls topless, which, according to them was, “the one picture in 22-years of our whole career and it was for breast cancer awareness.”
While touring in Australia, the remaining TLC members sat down with Yahoo Down Under to explain that their comments were taken out of context. “When we were talking about people not wearing clothes or being naked all the time, that’s just some people, it’s not just some artist, it’s actors, actresses,” Chilli said in her own defense. “And we’re living proof,” T-Boz chimed in.
Vixens, what do you think? Has Rihanna finally taken it too far or should Chilli and T-Boz ignore their new industry enemy?
