Trey Songz is getting back to his roots with a look that made him an R&B heartthrob.
On Sunday (Dec. 18), the 32-year-old showed off his newly minted cornrows to fans via Instagram just before hitting the stage at Power 106 KMEL’s “House of Soul” concert. Before the chiseled muscles and tracks like “Neighbors Know My Name” and “Cake,” Trey came into the game in 2005 with his braids and a powerful voice. After the releases of I Gotta Make It and Trey Day, he chopped them off just in time for his Grammy-nominated album, Ready.
Plenty of fans were thrilled to see the singer during another tour stop in Los Angles Friday (Dec. 16) where he initially debuted the new look. It definitely required a double look.
The “Bottoms Up” singer already loves the feedback from his fans. He found it funny when a poll was made about him based on which fans prefer. One fan said, “You still Zaddy either way,” which he can’t be blamed for.
