Last night, Ferguson police officers arrested and assaulted two Huffington Post and Washington Post reporters covering the peace protests in Ferguson, Missouri. Since the tragic events began in Ferguson, there has been vaguely scattered information across the media stratosphere of what exactly is going on. Justice correspondent for the Huffington Post Ryan Reilly and Washington Post reporter Wesley Lowery sought out on a mission to expose the law enforcement conditions and were eventually harassed and arrested.
The Huffington Post reports that the two reporters were working in a McDonald’s when SWAT came in and invaded the fast food joint. Some officers ordered them to stop recording the proceedings and when they refused, they were violently detained. After word got out of the reporters’ arrest, the two were released.
