We’re only a few hours away from the new year, and vision boards are probably one of the most valuable visualization tools available to you.
This powerful tool, consisting of magazine cut-outs and a cardboard, serves as your goal magnet, using the Law of Attraction. It’s a tangible representation of your goals and your ideal life. Because your mind responds strongly to visual stimulation-by representing your goals with pictures and images-you will actually strengthen and stimulate your emotions. Seeing your goals in pictures helps make the pursuit of your goals easier and more fun.

Find pictures that represent or symbolize the experiences, feelings, and possessions you want to attract into your life, and place them in your board. Use magazines or internet images to visualize what you want. Post your scriptures, affirmations, inspirational words, quotations, and thoughts, too. Choose words and images that inspire you and make you feel good. Use a picture of you when you were at your happiest. Place it in the center.
Split your board into sections. For example, the right corner can be dedicated strictly to financial goals. The lower right, romantic and social goals. On the opposite side, dedicate a corner to your career goals and the last to maybe your fitness/weight goals. Make it cater to what you want—it’s your future, after all.
Once your board is complete, hang it up in a place where you look often. Attracting what you want isn’t just about cutting and pasting, but actively visualizing what it is you want.
The time you spend visualizing in the evening just before bed is especially powerful. The thoughts and images that are present in your mind during the last forty-five minutes before going to sleep are the ones that will replay themselves repeatedly in your subconscious mind throughout the night. The same holds true as you begin each day.
As some time goes by, and your dreams begin to manifest, look at those images that represent your achievements, and feel gratitude for how well the Law of Attraction is working in your life. Make a new board at the top of each year, or if your achieving faster than expecting, make one every season.
