Who could forget the 1992 hit “We Got A Love Thang” and “Keep on Walking” from Ohio songbird Cece Peniston?
The singer/songwriter returns to the music scene, debuting new music and a new look. After an extended hiatus, Peniston, who was crowned Miss Black Arizona in 1990 and Miss Galaxy in 1990, has premiered her latest song, “Nothing Can Stop Me Now” off her new album. She also has collaborations with Anthony Hamilton and Calvin Richardson on the long-awaited project.
In an interview with Madame Noire, the 45-year-old talked about her new music saying, “Yeah, I am really excited. The new album, which is still untitled, is going to be a mixture of styles, from dance to R&B to House. People say why don’t you focus on one? I say, ‘Why should I be in a damned box if I like to do different things?”
In addition to new music, the performer began an extensive weight loss journey, even releasing a fitness DVD, “The Fitness Journey.”
