After seven years since her last studio album, Deborah Cox returns to the music scene with a new track, “More Than I Knew.” The heartfelt ballad tells of a woman realizing the love she’s lost as Cox sings:
“I missed you so much more than I ever loved you / I’m better off needing you now than when I had you / I know I complained but now you’re all that I crave / Maybe I just loved you more than I knew”
The Thaddeus Dixon produced track is the first official single from the Toronto native’s forthcoming sixth album, Work of Art, set for a August 15 release through Cox’s Deco Recording Group/Primary Wave BMG.
Cox, who’s best known for her 1998 chart topping single R&B ballad “How Did You Get Here,” and her flawless covers, specifically Whitney Houston’s classic “I Will Always Love You,” was snagged to play the lead role of Josephine Baker in the Broadway-bound musical, Josephine on Broadway.
