Weeks ago, we introduced you to the stars of Thicker Than Water, otherwise known as Bravo TV’s “black Brady Bunch.” Before a new episode airs tomorrow after Real Housewives of Atlanta, we have an exclusive with Ben and Jewel’s three daughters: Brooklyn, Britney and Cyrene. As part of the larger than life clan, these three Vixens not only must learn to live under their parent’s roof, but carve out their own individual identities.

What is the biggest perk that comes with living under your parent’s roof?
After getting pregnant with Diamond at only 14, I was living on my own and my relationship with my Dad and Jewel diminished even more than it already was. At 21 years old I moved in with my parents, Ben and Jewel, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. As a result, we have gotten way closer than I ever imagined and it’s been easier to work out the kinks in our relationship because we spend more time together.
Are there house rules everyone has to abide by? Which is your least favorite?
We have house rules just like many families do. Being a very independent person, it can sometimes be challenging, especially to make curfew on the weekends. I’m always out networking or hosting at a variety of events that tend to run late and often get frustrated with the idea of a curfew at 25. Still working on that one.
People either love or hate the show; what is your reaction to the naysayers?
I really don’t care to entertain naysayers. I’ve always had a whocares.com attitude when it comes to negative people. Sometimes,people can be cruel when hiding behind the internet, but having the big sense of humor that I do, I just laugh when people say outrageous things. I find it pretty hilarious that people invest time and energy to hate.
How did you come into the hair business?
I’ve always loved hair since I was a young girl. I have a passionate hate for raggedy hair and I love to see the look on a women’s faces when they get a hair transformation! You can learn about my hair line and purchase it through my website: www.brooklyntankard.com.
What are your thoughts on the natural hair movement?
I’m really excited and inspired by the natural hair movement. I believe it’s bigger then what meets the eye and a sign that women learning to love and except their natural hair. I’ve also noticed that a lot of my clients are using extensions as a convenient method of protecting and growing their natural hair!
What are three hair care tips that you can offer Vixens?
Always use natural sulfate free hair products and natural oils on your hair. This prevents your hair from drying out and breaking due to harsh products; 2) When getting a weave sew in, tighter isn’t always better. If your hair is sewn-in too tight, it can cause bad hair damage; 3) And always use a hair professional that cares about your natural hair and will pay attention to detail.
Who’s your favorite Hollywood family and why?
The Wayans are my favorite Hollywood family because they keep me laughing! Their family isn’t afraid to chase their dreams and laugh in the process. They have truly built a legacy.
You’ve described yourself as “rebel of the Tankards.” Why?
I consider myself the rebel because I break all the rules. I do what I want when no one’s looking. You have so much fun when you live your life and do your very best.
Are you dating? Is it hard to impress your father in that regard?
I’m not dating currently. My dad is a tough cookie, but he’s got a soft spot for me. I don’t try to impress my dad or bring him an Obama of a son-in-law. I walk my walk and hope my dad will appreciate my chosen one when that time comes.
What’s the biggest change in your life since reality stardom?
The biggest change in my life is fans recognizing me. I still work my day job, but I must say I have a lot more visitors at my desk these days.
What do you do for a living?
I am a solutions analyst for a large communications company. I started my job as a “just to get by” gig and worked my way up the ladder.
Your family lives a lavish lifestyle, but what celeb’s lifestyle do you admire most?
My favorite celeb is India Arie. I love, love, love her individuality. She embraces herself and is so consistent in every area of her career. I love me some India, honey!!
What is the best and worst thing about being part of a blended family?
The best thing about being in a blended family is that it definitely stretches you and forces you to grow as a person. I had to learn how to share and get along with so many different personalities. I think it made me a wiser and more versatile kid. The worst thing? Well naturally, any child wishes her biological parents could work it out to see what it would have been like. At this point, I wouldn’t trade my Tankards for anything in the world.
You come from a career oriented family. What are your personal goals?
Good Lord, where to begin? I plan on going into acting, singing, modeling, business, production, and possibly even law; I wanna tackle it all!
Do you enjoy being the youngest girl in the family?
Eh, it has its perks and its downfalls. There are times when I don’t feel like I’m being taken seriously, but there are also a great deal of times when I feel like my wise words are appreciated.
How have your friends reacted to the show?
(Laughs) A lot of them are still in shock and unbelief, but the others think it’s the coolest thing that I’m on TV. But to be honest, it hasn’t really hit me that hard yet…sometimes I forget. Then, of course, you’ve got your haters, but I don’t really pay them too much mind; poor things.
