Raven Sorvino is an emcee you ought to know.
Fresh from her lead single, “Nextel Chirp” featuring Gangsta Boo off of her upcoming Pretty Pink EP, Sorvino is back with her second single. Titled “96 Fleetwood,” the Houston, TX native and L.A. resident spits braggadocios bars on the WoodysProduce-track about her trill lifestyle alongside Austin, TX R&B songstress Mélat, who lends her airy vocal prowess on the hook.
“WoodysProduce told me about Mélat a year or so ago. He did a remix with her and thought it be a great idea if we worked,” Raven said about the collabo. “[WoodysProduce] sent me this beat and I had the concept of this player memory when I was a kid of my father driving Cadillac’s through Texas. He’d wear suits and gold and a Rolex. So I titled it ’96 Fleetwood’.”
“It’s dope because it’s a different zone For Melat in terms of production and myself too,” she added. “Two boss chicks from Texas not taking no sh*t.”
The rising rapper sound draws influences from the candy-coated flair and finesse of UGK fused with the raw bravado of femcees with a hunger to go just as hard if not harder than their male counterparts in the booth on “96 Fleetwood.”
“I do it for the trill b*tches about they sh*t/I do it for the shorties that stay caked up/Making sure they rent’s paid first, stay up/Even if you trapping you getting that work/Independent shorties keep that paper in they purse/Pitbull in a skirt like Eve, that’s church,” she spits.
