Dating can naturally be a dreadful experience for some, and it can be even worse when you have to do it sober. Drinks tend to make dating lighter and put our oh-he’s-fine-as-hell-but-I’m-nervous-to-talk-to-him jitters at ease.
While many of us single vixens prowl the bar and club scenes to meet someone, we might throw back one too many drinks along the way. Put that shot of Ciroc back on the table and follow these tips on how to date sober.

Don’t Go Out Looking For A Husband
Let’s face it, you’re probably not going to meet your Prince Charming at the club, especially if you’re asking the random guy you’re dancing with to put a ring on it. When you go out, just simply go to have a good time that will take the edge off. If you come across a man along the way, then that’s a bonus.
Try Online Dating
We know, we know, you would never try online dating because either:
a) You think it’s full of creeps and weirdos
OR
b) You’ve tried it before and ended up going on a date with a creep or weirdo
Online dating is not solely for the man who lives at home with his mom or the woman with 30 cats. Just like dating IRL (in real life), you might have a couple awkward dates but that doesn’t mean you should never try it or stop trying.
Go On A Date In The Morning
While it is always five o’clock somewhere, you’re less likely to throw back a shot or drink because of nerves in the morning. The next time you have a date, plan a morning activity for the two of you to do.
Double Date
It’s always nice to have the moral support of a friend when dating. It would be weird if you just brought your bestie along on your date, so instead set up a double date. You can have the moral support of your friend without scaring off your date.
Go to a Coffee Shop Instead of a Bar
Instead of being in a place that is centered around drinking alcohol, try meeting a guy at a coffee shop. You can’t possibly say anything too crazy if you have one too many espressos, right?
Go On A Physically Tough Date
Whether it’s rock climbing or sky diving, nothing says I need to be sober quite like a physically challenging date. You’ll be so worried about your safety that you won’t even have time to think about grabbing a drink.
