It’s the week of the Super Bowl and we have to admit, it’s not as exciting as last year’s countdown to the Beyonce Bowl. However, most females look forward to this annual event for a few reasons: the halftime show ,commercials and of course: the end of football until the fall.
While we aren’t and probably will never be a fan of men running down the field risking permanent life injuries for points on a scoreboard, movies of such caliber are quite enjoyable. Growing up watching Little Giants and Remember the Titans made us appreciate the fictitious stories, even if we never voluntarily flip to ESPN. As we prepare to attend or host a party, take a look at the best football movies ever.

A movie that speaks to our feminine qualities. Little Giants made for a good movie about women equality when they put a girl on the underdog pee wee team because she was better than her competition. We didn’t get the urge to watch or play football, but we appreciated the gesture.
Cuba Gooding Jr. spoke to our hearts as he starred as James Robert “Radio” Kenned,y a lover of the game of football despite being mentally challenged.
Any Given Sunday
Ignoring the crudeness of this movie, there is lots of eye candy thanks to Jamie Foxx and LL Cool J. And even if you’re not a fan of the movie, fast forwarding to when Al Pacino gives his motivational “Inches to Inches” speech is worth the 5-minute listen.
Remember the Titans
As most of us related to Denzel Washington’s daughter in this film with her distaste of the sport, even we chanted the Titans catch phrase ever chance we got.
The Blind Side
Based loosely on the story of Michael Oher of the Baltimore Ravens, this movie struck another emotional nerve. As much as it’s a football movie, it’s also a family story.
We love movies based on true stories, especially when they have The Rock starring in it. Great eye candy to watch as he turned the juvenile delinquents into a team of football players.
The Game Plan
Much different from his character in Gridiron Gang, The Rock stars in this family comedy as a professional football player and sudden father of an 8-year-old daughter he never knew he had.
Most women could care less about this movie being about football as much as it’s comedic value. Adam Sandler as Bobby Boucher is one of his funniest roles to date.
The Longest Yard
We’re convinced Adam Sandler’s dream is to be a football player as he stars in another film about the sport. This time as a troublemaker quarterback that lands in jail and forms a friendship with the inmates that once despised him when he organizes a game of “inmates vs. guards”.
Another feminist empowered movie as Goldie Hawn takes on inner city high school football team that tries everything in their power to break her.
Before Cuba Gooding starred as a mentally challenged football fan on the sidelines, he was a football star in Jerry Maguire. This role won him an Academy Award for “Best Supporting Actor”.
If you thought Remember The Titans brought the emotions out of you, Brian’s Song will have you flustered with tears. This is the true story of the friendship between Chicago Bear’s Brian Piccolo and Gayle Sayers as they deal with Piccolo diagnosis with terminal cancer.
This story is about the first African American to win the Heisman trophy and as boring as that sounds, it’s actually quite interesting. We love stories based on real life events, especially when they include the very attractive Rob Brown as the main character.
The best football movie for college athletes. Rudy was an underdog in everything except his heart. The Notre Dame player reminds us to never give up on anything we love, no matter what the obstacle is.
The Last Fall
Lance Gross stars as a very attractive and guilt stricken football star who returns home after his bit in the NFL backfires. The eye candy is worth the sports driven film.
Another football film that speaks to your emotions as the Permian High School Football players make history on their journey to the state championships. Starring the gorgeous Derek Luke is another reason we love this movie.
While this movie only highlights their football team briefly, cheerleaders are very much apart of the sport. One of the best films about the supporters of football players.
Another aspect of football that is just as important as the players: the marching band. This film incorporates the sports game in the eyes of the musicians that entertain the crowd.
