The ’90s was a time when family sitcoms reigned television stations and viewers would tune in for an evening of laughs and drama. While we try to make a comeback to the sitcom era with new shows like TV One’s Love That Girl and TBS’ Meet the Browns, we can’t help but crave a blast from the past.
The Parent ‘Hood (1995-1999) was a series that followed a middle class family in Harlem through the ups and downs of life. Deemed The Cosby Show of the ’90s, no one will ever forget Uncle Wendell’s (Faizon Love) humor or Robert Peterson’s (Robert Townsend) far-fetched fantasy sequences.
Thirteen years after the show’s end, some have fell out of the limelight and others remained in tact.
Take a look at where they are now!
Robert Townsend: Robert Peterson
While Robert was the creator of The Parent ‘Hood, he has gone on to direct and produce Carmen: A Hip-Hop Opera, Hollywood Shuffle, and other programs. He continues to direct and foster the growth of The Robert Townsend Foundation, his non-profit organization aided to introduce new unsigned filmmakers.
Suzzanne Douglas: Jerri Peterson

Williams warmed viewers hearts with his puppy dog eyes and chubby cheeks back then. Now, slim and trim at 25, he seems to be enjoying young adulthood to the fullest. He was last seen popping bottles in the club and allegedly working towards a rap career.
Ashli Adams: CeCe Peterson
Adams has made it her duty to live a normal life. The actress hasn’t been in the lime light since her role as CeCe. At 21 she seems to be enjoying her college-appropriate social life. Faizon Love: Wendell Wilcox
For 20 years, Love has been making us laugh. His plump appearance and lovable demeanor have made him a staple in black comedy. Recently, he starred in the film Couples Retreat and a series of commercials for the pre-paid wireless provider Boost Mobile.
