A North Carolina hairstylist has seen a major uptick in interest after used her mugshot to advertise her business on Twitter.
According to the Charlotte Observer, Shia Yearwood was arrested on Wednesday (Jan. 3) and charged with violating a domestic protective order, which is related to a child custody case. While this was not the way she may have wanted to start her 2018, she turned her lemons into lemonade.
Her mugshot was featured on a Charlotte, N.C. mugshot page, where many users complimented her immaculate box braids. Yearwood pointed out that she did the braids herself, and used the hashtag #BraidsByShia to advertise her brand.

Not only did her skills grab the attention of the 4,500 people who retweeted her, but her mentions were reportedly filled with prospective new clients eager to find out if she could fit them into her schedule, and how much she’d charge for her work.
“I would just like to say I do appreciate the internet for the laughs and the new clients,” she tweeted on Saturday. “Lol turn negatives into positives all 2018.”
