Alexandra Shipp, is moving past her role as Aaliyah in Lifetime’s Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B, to bigger and better. The young actress has recently been casted in Fox’s new movie, X-Men: Apocalypse. On Thursday, director Bryan Singer announced Shipp, who is set to play young Storm, will act alongside Game of Thrones actress, Sophie Turner and actress Sansa Stark, via Twitter.
X-Men: Apocalypse, which will begin to film in Montreal in the spring, is the sequel to X-Men:Days of Future Past and will focus on the creation of your favorite characters—Storm, Cyclops and Jean Grey. The movie is set to release May of 2016. In the meantime, Shipp will star as Ice Cube’s wife, Kim Woodruff, in the upcoming N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton to preview August 14, 2015.
