“You getting ready so I know we gon be here awhile
in the bathroom flat irons and nail files
spending hours in salons on your hairstyles
in the mall steady racking up the air miles
hit the gym step on the scales stare at the number
you say you dropping 10 pounds preparing for summer
and you don’t do it for the man, men never notice
you just do it for yourself you’re the f-cking coldest“
Drake addressed the most common misconception amongst opposite sex that men care in his Swizz Beatz- and T.I.-assisted track “Fancy.” Far too often women spend hours creating issues out of things that men simply don’t care about. While men do have a preference, men aren’t that shallow. Take a look at a few of the most talked about things that women focus on, but a man doesn’t care about.
1. Natural, Hair Weave and Hair Length
While women focus on going natural because they are anti-weave, getting a weave because they think men like long hair or refusing to cut their hair to please their man, the reality is that you’ve spent more time on it then men have.
Be it bald, short, long, real or fake, it’s about choosing something that looks good on you. If you look good with it, men will like it.
2. Hair Wraps In Bed
While some men may complain about your headscarf in the bed, most men understand. Many black men have been raised around mothers, grandmothers and aunts who have worn their headscarves around the house. Seeing you in one won’t be a deal breaker. So yes, you can wear your head scarf at home, but know when to take it off.
3. Heels vs. Flats In the Club
While heels in the club are sexy, appropriate and may gain you some extra attention, if you wear flats that are decent and look good with what you have on, you will get the same amount of attention… Maybe even stand out. Men would prefer you wear flats and dance, versus sitting down because your feet hurt.
4. Matching Bra and Panties
While it looks good and is sexy, matching your undergarments won’t guarantee anything extraordinary. The fact is that men are looking beyond the color matching and waiting patiently to remove them both. Focus on being in shape, being shaved and smelling good; it makes no different to men if your bra is red and your drawers are purple.
