Zendaya Coleman, who landed the role of Mary Jane in the newest Spiderman flick, can now add the title of fashion designer to her resume.
According to Hypebae, the 20-year-old collaborated with Law Roach to create a clothing line called Daya; the promotional video shows Zendaya with a short haircut, traipsing about an urban environment with mostly other people of color in her crew. The models enjoy the nightlife donning bomber jackets, velvet jumpsuits, and leather coats. “I gotta admit… wearing my own stuff feels really good,” the young actress wrote on Instagram. “We’ve done well.”
The fashion industry, with so few black women designers and models, is taking a step in the right direction with Daya wear and more representation.
