AlunaGeorge
Currently taking the world by storm with their R&B coiled around house songs that slay your soul along debut album, Body Music, Aluna Francis and George Reid of AlunaGeorge have stolen the hearts of many this past summer. Their sound embodies a new wave of dance music with gut-wrenching lyrics and deep beats. The duo are presently making their mark around the world on tour as well. -
The Chainsmokers
New Yorkers, Alex and Drew aka The Chainsmokers are extremely handy with remixing indie music making it a bit of a trend amongst them but are surely good at it. Their tracks have great danceable vibes with equally as amazing vocals by some killer talented artists. While they have earned plenty of blog recognition plus charts on Hypem, the guys are relatively new and are now doing shows across the nation. Not only do they make badass beats but bless us with some free downloads as well all across their Soundcloud. Both are on tour currently too, so look out for those dates here. -
Candyland
Not only are duo, Ethan and Josie of Candyland currently on tour with main stagers Krewella but also have made it on numerous Beatport charts with their debut dubstep/trap/house album, Bring The Rain. The Santa Bararians bring a mix of sounds with their original tracks and ‘OG remixes’ from liquid dubsteppy tracks to trap bangers. Ethan and Josie host free downloads for all via their Soundcloud as well and might be coming to your city soon too. -
LOUDPVCK
Hosting some of the most insane trap remixes and ‘Full Melt’ mixes on their Soundcloud alongside some originals, Californians– Kenny Beats & Ryan Marks who make up LOUDPVCK have had a great summer too. Having been touring around clubs and festivals across the states and wheeling out badass beats left and right- they earned a spot on the TomorrowWorld lineup as well. While their sound is primarily trap oriented, it’s different in the fact that their tracks display an array of synths, snares, and bass-lines you can’t help but vibe along to. -
Cashmere Cat
From his hit remix of Miguel’s ‘Do You…’ to EP “Mirror Maru”, Magnus August Høiberg, better known as Cashmere Cat keeps things vibrant and melodic with his unique take on trap music. Remixing a song and practically making it your own is not an easy task to do but Cashmere does so with ease on his remix of ‘Do You…” that made it on Diplo’s ‘Endless Summer Playlist’ this past year. The liquidity of sound expressed through Cashmere’s pianism in his tracks is so anomalous truly embodying his sound. Playing sets across European and American festivals this past summer makes him a DJ to keep your eye out for as well. -
The Jane Doze
DJ’s Jen Mozenter and Claire Schlissel of The Jane Doze from New York are some bad bias strongly representing for girls in the dance music scene. The ladies have been spinning tunes for the past two years but performed a set at their first EDC this past summer and have shared stages alongside some of the best (i.e. Diplo, Calvin Harris, etc.). While there’s a small demand for girl DJs (and a lot of hate might I add…cough, cough Spinnin’ Records), these girls show no signs of slowing down with their sick remixes and fun beats. -
Juyen Sebulba
A young Texan, Juyen Sebula, is making his way into the industry with a very popular track called “Superjam”. Released off of Mad Decent, Sebula has been gaining major support from fellow producers like TJR and Laidback Luke. Being a Laidback Luke Forum Student, it’s pretty clear what path he’s taking and where he’ll end up. -
Martin Garrix
Mr. Animals, Martin Garrix has had the most prevalent summer being only 17-years-old making him the youngest person ever to reach the #1 spot on Beatport and for a record-breaking time too. For weeks Garrix’s stellar track, ‘Animals’, stayed up top on Beatport charts marking it as a summer anthem to say the least. Earning slots around plenty of fests/shows in America and Europe, Garrix is set to have high expectations from his old and new fans. -
Vicetone
Ruben and Victor of Vicetone are currently on tour with main stage man, Nicky Romero after having an exciting summer that consisted of touring fests like Wavefront Music Festival in Chicago to Hard Summer. The duo have a knack for progressive house tracks and are two guys to keep your ears out for because they have earned some major kudos from the likes of big names like Hardwell and Nervo. They have plenty of fun remixes but have been releasing some wicked originals like ‘Tremble’ and soon to be released, ‘Chasing Time’. -
Yellow Claw
Netherlands natives, Bizzey, Jim Aasgier & Nizzle of Yellow Claw make trap hits that can’t be compared. With all of their hit releases on their Soundcloud page this past summer resulted in earning some major blog recognition and ended with wheeling out a debut US tour (that’s happening soon). All of their bangin’ trap tracks with badass snares and 808s are free downloads as well which is truly a treat for all. Their SC’s page description practically says it all. They are Yellow Claw and they are awesome.
