
The popularity of DJ culture has has made its way from basement parties to arenas faster then 140 BPMs, and members of the scene – from producers to managers and beyond – have decided to give back to those less fortunate. Case and point: This morning dance music celeb DJs Diplo and Skrillex have announced plans to collaborate on a Pre-Grammy party to raise money in an effort to combat AIDs.

The Grammy nominated Swedish DJ/producer Avicii pledged to donate 2 million meals through the FEED Foundation. He’s also plans to raise $1million while on tour doing 27 shows in 26 cities.

Strong Arm Dj’s decided to give back with their Spin Back initiative. With the help of Flo Rida, Trina, Mia and others they were able to give back to children from the local Big Brother’s Big Sister organization as well as the Boys and Girls Club, Miramar’s Police Athletic Leagues.

Boston native DJ Nexus gave back to the Boston community by volunteering at his local food bank. At the food bank, he helped organize food to be distributed to homeless shelters all over Mass. His effort goes to show that even a little bit of help counts.
