Hollywood’s finest showed up last night for the 84th annual Academy Awards. Billy Crystal hosted the iconic show for the ninth time, and he enlisted the help of A-listers like George Clooney, Melissa McCarthy and more for funny and raucous skits. In addition to Crystal’s comedy, there were other moments that stood out as well, like Octavia Spencer’s win, Pharrell and Sheila E providing the music, and the death defying Cirque Du Soleil act. There were surprisingly a lot of standout moments from last night’s show but check out 10 of our favorites in the photo gallery.

Christopher Plummer Wins
At the age of 82, Christopher Plummer became the oldest actor ever to win an Oscar. His speech was even better: ”I have a confession to make, when I first emerged from my mother’s womb, I was already rehearsing my Academy thank-you speech. But it was so long ago, mercifully for you I’ve forgotten it.” It was a beautiful and inspirational moment because it showed that you’re never too old.
