We’ve got some good news and some bad news for you. The good news: The NBA has banned Clippers owner Donald Sterling from the league for life in light of the recent racist remarks that he made during a phone conversation with a young woman. So he won’t be sitting courtside for the Clippers ever again. The bad news: Sterling is not the only racist person left in the sports world. So while it’s great to see him kicked out of the NBA, racism isn’t going to disappear from sports simply because Sterling will no longer be associated with the Clippers.
We know this because, over the past few years, we’ve seen too many—way too many—instances of racism infiltrating sports. From basketball to football to soccer to golf to hockey (yes, hockey!), racism has reared its ugly head time and time again in a variety of different ways. For proof, check out these 10 most racist moments in recent sports history.
