Andre 3000 is getting ready to release a solo album! Er, maybe. On Saturday, Stephen G. Hill, who’s BET President of Music Programming and Specials for BET Networks, revealed what Three Stacks told him during a recent conversation between the two. “I got a solo album coming top of the year,” the Outkast rapper said, according to a tweet Hill sent out.
But within a few hours, one of Andre 3000’s representatives spoke with Billboard and revealed that a solo album was not necessarily in the works. “Regarding reports of a specific plan to release an album in early 2014,” the rep said, “there is no official confirmation on that report.”
So which side should we believe? Not sure. But what we do know is that an Andre 3000 solo album is exactly what the world needs right now. In fact, we would go as far as to say that Andre 3000 is doing a huge disservice to both himself and his fans by delaying a potential album any further.
