Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant has been sidelined for perhaps the first two months of the NBA season with a Jones fracture to the foot (a small broken bone on the base of his little toe). Other NBA players who’ve suffered the same injury have sat out even longer because the healing timetable for that area of the foot can be unpredictable. That leaves the Thunder in the hands of Russell Westbrook, a reality that might be the worst thing ever for OKC fans.
The team managed to play well and rally behind KD last season when Westbrook was out with a knee injury. But putting Westbrook in the driver’s seat is bad all around for too many reasons to say in one paragraph so we made a list of reasons why Durant going down is worse than it appears.
