Last night, the Internet was buzzing with the rumor that Drake had signed Diddy’s beau Cassie to his October’s Very Own imprint.
Necole Bitchie reported that a Mediabase newsletter — a music industry service that monitors radio station airplay in 180 US and Canadian markets — listed the former Bad Boy artist as a member of OVO. According to the newsletter:
R&B singer and occasional model Cassie, who had one of the biggest 2006 rhythm-crossover hits with the minimal electro Ryan Leslie produced “Me & U” and has since then been signed under Sean Diddy Combs exclusive Bad Boy/Interscope distribution partnership, has now inked another deal with Drake and Noah “40″ Shebib’s OVO Sound, their first big signing. … Cassie is now preparing for a new single later this year, followed by her sophomore LP next Spring.
While the chatter is simply Internet buzz at the moment, Cassie teaming up with Drake doesn’t sound like a bad idea. Check out 5 ways OVO can help take Cassie’s career to the next level.
