Next Tuesday, Maryland rapper Logic will release his debut album, Under Pressure, through Visionary Music Group and Def Jam Records. And if you’re scratching your head right now and wondering “Wait, who’s Logic?” we’ve got two words for you: You’re late. Very late. And you need to catch up, like, now.
Under Pressure might be Logic’s first official project, but for the last five years, he’s been grinding behind the scenes and building up his fan base by releasing a steady stream of mixtapes that, in most cases, have felt more like albums than free releases. From 2010’s Young, Broke, and Infamous to 2011’s Young Sinatra to his most recent project, 2013’s Young Sinatra: Welcome to Forever, Logic has produced more quality music than a lot of other rappers do in their entire careers—and he’s only just getting started. It’s a great sign of things to come for the 24-year-old MC.
Still not convinced that you need to check him out? Press play on “Under Pressure,” the title track from Under Pressure, and check out our six reasons you need to listen to Logic right now. —Chris Yuscavage
