Recently, VIBE magazine was invited by ESPN to jump on a conference call with Drake. OVO’s leading man spoke about his inspiration behind hosting the show, players he’s excited to meet and answered pretty candidly about what we should expect during tomorrow’s show. By now, you’ve heard about how he was kinda salty at the tennis player claiming he lost a game because he listened to Drake’s music, but Drake didn’t stop there. Keep reading the post by clicking on the arrows above to see what else Mr. Graham had to say.
And yes, he talked about Skylar Diggins.

Drake Loves Making Good Impressions
Of people, that is. One of the best things about Drake hosting Saturday Night Live was the great impressions he did of people like Kat Williams and his big homie, Lil Wayne. Young Aubrey said he “definitely incorporated impressions” in his performance and that he “loves finding a character and getting into that character,” especially if he knows them. Drake couldn’t say who he’d impersonate but let’s hope it’s his boy Johnny Manziel.

He Really, Really Likes Lint Rollers
When asked if he was bringing a lint roller to the ESPY’s, Drake laughed and said maybe he should and that he “should bring it out on stage.” He didn’t say he’d use one as a joke, but he didn’t say he wouldn’t either. Would you put it past him at this point?

Jamie Foxx Inspired Him To Host The ESPY’S
When asked if any of his friends gave him advice about hosting, Drake named actor/singer/comedian Jamie Foxx without missing a beat.
“One of my mentors, Jamie Foxx, a previous host, is a big reason why I asked to be a part of this. Just because that performance that he gave, I believe he hosted twice or three times… It was inspiring to me for so many reasons because of how he incorporated music, but how funny he was and how commanding his presence was. So his mentorship and advice has been great to me.”

Jokes Keep Drake Out Of Marvin’s Room
So which is harder for Drake: Writing jokes or writing a song? As an artist known for emotional honesty, Drake says telling jokes is pretty easy for him compared to making music.
“I think that because of the way I write songs which is very honest, raw emotion about my life, I think that writing a joke becomes a little easier for me because it’s just a little more lighthearted than your average brooding Drake song as the public would deem it.”

Drake Wants To Create A New Award For LeBron James
We know how close Drake is with LeBron, but that open letter King James wrote for Sports Illustrated last week about going home to Cleveland hit Aubrey right in the Tuscan Leather. Drake’s lyrics have been known to make a single tear drop dance down faces, but LeBron’s letter touched him so much that Drake wishes ESPN would reward the “kid from Akron, Ohio.”
“I think if we can give out an award at the ESPYS for incredible essay writing, I would definitely love to present that to him because I think what he just did was Patriotic in its own way, was courageous and was just, to me, I think it’s going to be one of the most historic things of our generation.”

Of Course, He’s Moving To Cleveland
Well not exactly moving there, but given LeBron’s decision to move back, Anthony Bennett, Tristan Thompson and Andrew Wiggins all on the team with LBJ and Johnny Manziel all in one city, Drake said he’d seriously have to look into some real estate their.
“I might have to spend a few months out of the year there to watch my guys do what they do best.”

Drake Gives Zero Fucks About Skylar Diggins’ Relationship
When Drake hosted SNL, he slipped in a nod to Rihanna in a sketch. Since he’s been so open about Skylar Diggins and the WNBA Star might be in attendance, we had to know if he’d shout her out too.
“Well, I obviously don’t want to give away the material. But I do have a growing affection for Skylar, and I’m not sure she’ll be able to make it, but I’m sure I’ll give you a treat if you enjoy my past references. I’m sure, if I haven’t done it already, now that I know you’re looking for it, I might stick one in there. You never know.”

And if that wasn’t convincing enough, the sometimes smooth crooner also had this to say about the his IG crush:
“I’ve never met Skylar. I’m sure it will be extremely awkward when I do. [I’d like to meet her] if she manages to show up, which she probably won’t. Her boyfriend will probably tie her down to a chair or something. But, yeah, if I ever get to meet her, I probably owe her an apology right off the bat. It’s been all in good spirits.”
