With Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs as their father, it’s safe to say Justin and Christian Combs have some pretty large shoes to fill. But with their dad’s words of wisdom leading the way, they’re more than ready to accept the challenge. In the latest episode of footwear brand Footaction’s docu-series “Footaction Free Flow: Politickin,” the heirs to the Bad Boy throne discuss continuing the legacy, style, and theimportance of voting this election.
The Combs brothers sat down with record executive Andre Harrell to chop it up about their father’s work ethic. While the two couldn’t deny their dad’s grind and influence on hip hop culture, they revealed how they’re planning to take it to the next level. “Definitely going to have to prove myself,” Christian, who recently signed to the Bad Boy (and Epic Records) label, said of taking over the music industry.
In addition to discussing their own personal style, the two also spoke about millennials taking this upcoming presidential election seriously. “I think it’s a big deal to be an impact on the youth culture and be a leader,” Justin said. And for anyone struggling with how to approach the polls come Voting Day, Justin shared the “best advice” his dad told him. “Hold your vote, and really see what each candidate is offering and what they’re going to do to change the things that are going on right now,” he continued. “Imagine if Martin Luther King and Malcolm X just didn’t say nothing; we would still be at wherever we were before.”
