Vice President-elect, Mike Pence managed to catch Hamilton last night (Nov. 18), but when the cast received news of his attendance, they planned a special parting gift for the Indiana Governor.
In the aftermath, Donald Trump demanded that the cast apologize to Pence. His supporters reacted accordingly with the #BoyCottHamilton hashtag, and Ava DuVernay handed down an impeccable clap back on behalf of all creatives.
“Artists will never apologize for speaking truth to power,” she tweeted at Trump. “Keep asking. Keep getting put in your place. It’s on.”

As for #BoycottHamilton, the Broadway show is so popular that it’s already sold out until (at least) 2017, but that’s not stopping Trump supporters from picketing outside the theater.
