Busta Rhymes brought out some of New York and Hip-Hop’s finest to celebrate his 50th birthday. On May 19, the chart-topping rapper held a party at La Bodega Negra. Busta Rhymes’ actual birthday was the following day, May 20. Guests in the building to celebrate the “Break Ya Neck” rapper’s 5th decade include Fat Joe, Jim Jones, Mary J. Blige, Angie Martinez, Papoose, and Spliff Star.
Ahead of the festivities, the Brooklyn-bred rapper shared with WWD his birthday plans at the AP House while celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.
“I’m going to do a little bit of partying. I’m going to do a little bit of relaxing, and I’m going to do a little bit of work,” he explained. “I love to work, because my job is not really work to me. It’s my passion, my love, my fulfillment — so going and making my music is part of me appreciating my gift and what I’ve been blessed with.”
